The exam is conducted by ETS – Educational Testing Service. It is one of the world’s largest assessments which is considered as an important step in the graduate school or business school and is often referred as GRE.
The examination is computer based MCQ which is required mainly for admission in MBA programs/graduate programs/Ph.D. all over the world. The test provides schools with common grounds for comparing applicant’s qualifications by their GRE score along with their academic record.
The test estimates your grasp of basic geometry, data analysis, algebra, arithmetic, Physics and Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry (Cell and Molecular Biology), critical thinking and college-level vocabulary. GRE is accepted by more than 1,200 business schools which include high ranking MBA programs.
Students can appear for the exam as per their convenience as it is conducted round the year. You can take the computer-based test once every 21 days, upto five times within any continuous rolling 12-month period (365 days). It is recommended that you register for your preferred GRE test date early.

First, look at the eligibility criteria for the program that you’re applying in. By learning about their requirements, you will have a score baseline set up for yourself. The Analytical Writing is scored from 0 to 6 where mean score is 4.0. The Verbal section is scored from 130 to 170 where top scorers are considered above 162 and the mean score of this section is 151 whereas for Quant section the mean score is 153. 166 and above is considered in the top scorer list. With all the three sections and tasks timing including breaks, the test takes approximately 4 hours.
GRE General Test – Rs. 14,699 Approx. GRE Subject Test – 10,756 Approx. There is no age criteria for the candidates who are willing to appear in the exam. However, a graduate degree from a recognized university should be with the candidate. Except for this, no other qualification is required as per ETS.
